The vines once sprawled across most of the 80 rolling acres at Mount Macedon Winery, but time has seen many of those acres turned back into the beautiful pastures that once attracted the likes of Burke and Wills. With incredibly rich soil and a cooler climate, it is no surprise that the area has grown to become a successful wine region.
At MMW, we farm organic Black Angus beef, free range eggs, and a variety of herbs, vegetables and orchard fruits that primarily end up being served as dishes in our restaurant. At times it feels like we farm kangaroos, with mobs reaching more than 150 on the property!
Australians are very lucky, with so much of the world’s best produce coming right from our doorstep. The notion of paddock-to-plate has never been more achievable than what it is today, right here at MMW. The Macedon Ranges are not only located in a diverse cool-climate wine region, but also farm some of the best fresh produce in Australia.
There is always a lot to do around the farm, so come see what’s going on at Mount Macedon Winery today.
