Do you have a wet weather option for ceremony?
We have a lovely old barn that has been transformed into a rustic under cover ceremony option. Set right next to the MMW vineyard and overlooking the Black forest, this location is sure to impress you and your guests with its breathtaking views.
Do you do weekday weddings?
We host weddings on weekdays and weekends. Please contact us for midweek and winter wedding packages (Monday – Thursday).
Can we source our own food catering?
We have two preferred catering teams that we work with regularly that have an extensive range of dining styles and menu options for you to choose from, however you are welcome to source your own food catering for your private event or wedding. If you would like to get more creative and source a different caterer, such as food trucks, then please feel free to do so.
What is your venues maximum capacity?
Our main reception space has a maximum capacity of 120 guests for a sit-down wedding and 170 guests for a cocktail wedding. If your numbers exceed this, we have some spectacular locations for marquee weddings. Please contact us for more information on marquee weddings.
What is the latest time my wedding can conclude?
The latest finish time for a wedding celebration at MMW is 12:00am. This is due to liquor licence restrictions beyond this point.
How do we go about hosting a marquee wedding?
A marquee or tent will need to be sourced externally, so please let us know if you are interested in a marquee wedding and we can provide you with our recommended marquee hire companies. There are a range of tents to choose from at different sizes, shapes and costs, so you there is sure to be an option to suit your needs and budget size.
Is there accommodation nearby?
There is plenty of accommodation nearby in Mount Macedon, Macedon and Woodend (all of which are within a 5 – 10 minute drive). Please ask for our recommended accommodation list if you would like our suggestions.
Do we have to pack down?
The MMW team will look after all pack down and reasonable clean up from your wedding. Any items you brought in will be put to the side and can be collected either on the night or the following day between times set by MMW management.
Is there power in the ceremony gardens?
An extension lead can be run from a near by power source to allow for things such as portable speakers or microphones.
Is there a place for the bridal party to get ready?
The MMW Retreat is available for bridal party members to get ready in on the day of your wedding. Early access is available from 7:00am or if you require additional time, up to 4 guests can stay in the MMW Retreat on the night before your wedding.
Can we hire bus transport?
We recommend for bus transport to be arranged for your guests to get to and from your wedding in a timely manner. Whether it be a small shuttle bus, or a large coach, we have local recommended transport hire companies who will work with you and your budget to get your guests home safely.
Can guests leave their cars over night?
Guests are able to leave their car on the premises (at their own risk) over night. Cars can be left providing pick up is no later than midday the following day. Gates can be closed over night and in the early morning so please ensure arrangements are made prior to the morning of pick up to avoid not being able to collect a car.
Are there kitchen facilities for the caterers to use?
Our kitchen is located inside the reception venue and is available to be used by your caterers. The kitchen includes stainless steel bench tops, double sink, stove top and oven. All caterers are to follow the MMW Kitchen Use Term’s and Condition’s (which will be passed onto them prior to the event). They will need to provide any additional equipment and utensils that require to prepare the food as well as provide all crockery, cutlery and serving ware.
Will we need to bring our own sound system?
We have the facilities to play back ground music only during your reception, so we would recommend getting either a band or DJ. Please ensure they have all sound equipment and PA equipment and are happy for you to use equipment such as a microphone for your speeches.
When can suppliers have access to start setting up?
If your wedding starts in the late afternoon or evening, suppliers will have access to the venue from midday onwards, unless otherwise discussed with MMW management. If you have an earlier start, early access will be arranged to ensure your suppliers have plenty of time to set up.
All suppliers must abide by the MMW Suppliers Terms and Conditions in order to access the property.
Can we drop off additional items in the days leading up to our wedding?
Providing we are available, we recommend dropping off all additional items the day before your wedding. Another date and time can be scheduled if this is not suitable.
Can we have candles?
Candles are permitted, however all candles must be in jars or vases tall enough so an open flame isn’t exposed.
Can we use confetti?
Confetti (including bio degradable) or rice is not permitted on the premises. We are happy for you to provide dried or fresh flower petals as an alternative.
Can we bring and provide our own alcohol?
Due to a strict liquor licence policy, alcohol is not permitted to be brought and consumed on the Mount Macedon Winery property. If guests are found consuming their own alcohol on the premises, the alcohol will be confiscated and the guests may be asked to leave.
Do you offer beverage on consumption?
We only offer the drinks package which is priced per person. Private TAB’s for spirits can be added and alcoholic or non-alcoholic cocktail drink dispensers can be arranged as an additional option.
